In the UK, you have a legal right to choose who provides your specialist NHS mental health exams. But not all healthcare professionals are qualified to determine ADHD.
Panorama has received complaints from whistleblowers and patients who claim that private clinics diagnose ADHD and prescribe medication without proper screening. We conducted an undercover investigation to learn more.
What is an assessment of an initiative?
A psychiatrist will meet with you to discuss the impact of ADHD on your life and whether medication can assist. Private psychiatric services provide the fastest and most professional diagnosis, particularly in London. The costs typically range from PS600 to PS1,200. If you're an active member of the Armed Forces, you have a right to choose which mental health professional you're recommended to for an ADHD assessment.
